A New Wave Bakery in Medan

Bakeout is an F&B brand serving Australian-style breakfast, complete with coffee, burgers, and most importantly, pastries as their main signature. More than just a bakery, Bakeout embodies the vision of a “new wave bakery,” combining artisan methods with a modern approach to deliver high-quality products.

Born from the founders’ deep passion for food, Bakeout represents years of experience in the F&B industry. After moving from B2B ventures into a consumer-facing brand, they set out to build a bakery rooted in quality and inclusivity. The journey became even more personal when they began crafting recipes suitable for children with dietary restrictions, leading to premium pastries, including gluten-free options, that could be enjoyed by everyone.

Frequent travels abroad also became a source of inspiration, as the founders explored bakery concepts across Asia and beyond. This mix of passion, hands-on experimentation, and global insight shaped Bakeout into more than just a business, it became a heartfelt pursuit to elevate the local pastry scene in Medan.

But as Bakeout prepared to expand into the historic Kesawan district, a new challenge emerged. Its existing visual identity, playful in tone, no longer reflected the vision of a confident, modern artisan bakery. To align brand expression with strategic goals, Bakeout turned to Stellaris1.

The Challenge

Playful Look vs. Premium Feel

Positioned as an artisan bakery with a modern twist, Bakeout needed a visual identity that could communicate premium quality while remaining warm and welcoming.

While the logo was strong, the supporting visual elements did not fully capture the aspiration to become a top pastry destination in Medan.

The upcoming Kesawan outlet also posed an additional question:
“how could the brand maintain consistency with the Multatuli outlet, where interior design and marketing collaterals had already been established in a different style?”

Our Approach

Refinement Over Reinvention

Rather than reinventing everything from scratch, Stellaris1 chose a path of refinement. The existing logo was preserved to retain equity, while complementary elements were redefined to achieve greater alignment with Bakeout’s brand essence. A more premium color palette was introduced, and product photography was re-graded with warmer tones to better reflect the artisan positioning.

From packaging to illustration to pitch decks, NTMY covered all their marketing and design needs. They can now focus on what matters most, and leave the creative juices to us.

With this refreshed identity, Bakeout entered Kesawan with confidence, offering not just pastries but an elevated brand experience. The new visual approach reinforced Bakeout’s position as a premium yet welcoming bakery in Medan, a place where craftsmanship, quality, and warmth meet in every bite.
