PT. Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) is a pioneer in the space-based telecommunications sector that provides information and telecommunication services in Indonesia. As the largest satellite operator in the country, and even in Asia, PSN is deeply committed to ensuring equal access to technology. Their goal is to make communication services available even in the furthest areas (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions), or as we know it, 3T (daerah tertinggal, terdepan, dan terluar).
Since its establishment in 1991, PSN has not only focused on technological advancement but also contributed to environmental sustainability, social and economic development through internet access and digital solutions, as well as natural disaster and illegal activities prevention by monitoring satellites.
Bringing Visionary Minds Together
As a brand with a historical significance and a major impact on technological innovation in Indonesia, creating a brand guideline for PSN, without changing its logo, required great attention to detail. We needed to align the visions of all stakeholders at PSN to ensure every idea felt cohesive and harmonized, stitching it all together into a unified story that reintroduces the true identity of PSN.
For PSN, it’s crucial to convey its value as a brand that is trustworthy, optimistic, focused, and highly committed to any kind of advancements. We aimed to compile all their ideas, visions, and values into a comprehensive brand guideline. Alongside the substantial elements, we combined these with visual guidelines, emphasizing that the visual elements play an equally vital role in shaping PSN’s brand image.
Goal & Result
33 Years in The Making
Since its inception in 1991, PSN has always had the vision to break boundaries, particularly in space technology innovation. Adi Rahman Adiwoso, the founder of PT. Pasifik Satelit Nusantara, believes Indonesia holds immense potential in this field for the future. Despite various limitations, there are always opportunities to innovate and create a greater impact for the benefit of many. This core belief is what PSN stands for—a dream to play a pivotal role in Indonesia’s golden era.
To fully convey the idea—that PSN is more than a satellite company—a brand revitalization was necessary to create a more structured communication strategy. We conducted a thorough brand audit, involving stakeholders from all departments and levels, from staff to the CEO and founder. Overall, the PSN team already shared a unified “spirit” about how significant their individual contributions are to the company and the broader tech industry. This made it easier for us to craft a strong brand communication strategy, which we then compiled into a comprehensive brand guideline, as well as a thorough marketing campaign approach.
Embracing the Future, Uniting the Dream
The creation of PSN’s new brand guideline wasn’t just about gathering and compiling information into a comprehensive document. It involved all stakeholders and department representatives to understand what the brand truly needed to communicate. We held in-depth discussions, both technical and non-technical, to learn more about PSN’s scope of work, sub-brands, and services to date.
From there, we gradually designed the guideline, starting with an introduction, the brand journey, and an explanation of the brand archetype and characteristics, along with the visual application across various mediums. We made sure all this information was structured and easy to understand. We believe this brand revitalization, a collaboration between PSN and Stellaris1, will have a significant impact on PSN’s future, given its contribution to satellite technology development in Indonesia—and even in Asia—over the past 33 years. In a way, this initiative echoes Neil Armstrong’s famous quote, “One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Beyond Borders: Vision for Tomorrow
The sky is not the limit
—it’s the gateway to the future. In line with PSN’s 33rd anniversary, they launched a corporate campaign titled “Beyond Borders: Vision for Tomorrow” for 2024. This campaign reaffirms PSN’s vision of driving innovation and collaboration to open new horizons for Indonesia. Through this campaign, PSN encourages the public to keep pushing the boundaries in various sectors, from the economy and technology to a solid and sustainable space ecosystem.
The “Beyond Borders” campaign aims to inspire audiences to contribute to satellite technology development and its everyday applications. One of the key goals of this campaign is to raise public awareness about the crucial role of satellites.
We developed a variety of ideas and visual elements for this campaign, ensuring that the key messages were effectively communicated. Using retro-futurism-inspired illustrations added a unique touch while maintaining a strong identity that was easy to implement across multiple platforms. To maximize communication, the campaign spanned various channels, from online (website, social media, and email blasts) to offline (press conferences and printed media).

A Fulfilling Collaboration
Throughout the collaboration between PSN and Stellaris1, the entire process has been a pleasant and fulfilling journey. In getting to know PSN better, we realized that it’s more than just a brand—it’s a group of brilliant individuals with noble visions and dreams that radiate their energy to those around them. We shared that same enthusiasm, striving to deliver the best possible outcome that brought their clear and well-planned dreams to life.
